Silver Kingfisher Skull

There's a first time for everything, and I guess that would include life-sized (and rather large) silver sculptures.

This is a artistic replica of a Giant Kingfisher skull, made in silver. The model was hand sculpted in clay, referencing from a photograph of the actual skull. The beak has been matted, and colored black with patina to match the black beak of the Giant Kingfisher.

This skull is about 12 centimeters long, and by far the biggest solid item in silver I've ever made. I'm very glad the commissioner allowed me to experiment a bit. I have learned a great deal because of it.
