Taxidermy - Fallow Antlers by Illahie Taxidermy - Fallow Antlers by Illahie
A set of non-matching antlers of a Fallow deer. Acquired by the commissioner from the famous Longleat estate

~To whom it may concern, (please read before accusing me of anything!)
NONE of the animals I work on are killed for the purpose of taxidermy alone and most are found along side the road or come from bird/animal breeders in the area.

I am a permit holding and fully registered taxidermist

Back in 1973, in a zoo in Chicago [not sure the name, though it was somewhere along Lake Shore Drive], they had a whole group of Fallow Deer in an enclosure, with this plaque out by the walkway - "Fallow Deer - scientifica nameus - For Ornamental Purposes Only. Naturally, upon reading this, I wondered out loud just what the hell the rest of the animals were doing there.

My comment was not received well by the Zoo cop dude who happened to be standing nearby.

You are probably the best taxidermist I've ever seen. Granted, I haven't seen that many, but I have been to a lot of museums, so...
I'm just saying.
