Mearu Torc by Illahie Mearu Torc by Illahie
Silver torc for the wonderful and awesome Mearu! The head is a fox head, with extra long ears. The inside ears have been made a bit shorter so that it doesn't poke her in the neck.

The eyes are citrine on the left, and blue sapphire on the right.

This is absolutely beautiful. Besides the high attention to detail (which make me melt on the inside), it's the eye of the fox that catches me the most.

...Im actually rather jealous I cant own one myself.

Hiya Hiya! The website is nearly finished, but by all means bookmark the URL; [link] (www . imbascreations . com)

And yes, I do sell, but most torcs I make are commissions. Again, all information will be available through the website :)

Is there any reason the two eyes are different colors?

(and if someone asked you this and you responded already I'm sorry, I didn't want to read over 5 pages of comments ;) )

Wow, this piece is gorgeous. Did you make the fox head yourself (ie. metal clay or something?) or did you buy it? Either way, this came out stunning; great job. :D

I did two version of it, one for casting and one with PMC. Honestly, the PMC worked a lot quicker for this tiny torc end, and the shrinking was minimal! :) Bigger ends, and most torc ends nowadays are casted

Dang, it turned out so nice. -wistful sigh- I wanna try working with PMC and making some pendants or rings or something sometime. Except it's so expensive and alas, I haven't been getting many hours at work, so no extra monies for jewelry stuff for me. :( And I have no idea how to get started casting, lol, though I've wanted to for a while. ^.~

-goes and looks up torcs- Ohhh, that's cool! I've never heard of torcs before, though I've probably seen some. And... I was looking at the piece again, and I'm just curious as to exactly what the eyes are? I mean, I know they're citrine/blue sapphire, but they seriously look like real eyes, so I had to ask. ;) (sorry, I'm probably starting to bug you with all my questions by now, huh? ^^;)

As I just suggested to someone else, try looking up jewellers and see if they would perhaps allow you to learn in their workshop for a small fee. Or perhaps local craft centers that offer jewellers classes :) I'll save you on having to buy all the machines

That's a good idea. :) I dunno if there are any jewelers in my area (I live in a place where there's just a lot of small towns and stuff), but I'll have to give that a try, methinks. ^^ Thank you!
