A picture taken at the end of last year in the Netherlands. Just as I finished a nice portrait shot of a young male boar my card was full. I stood there fiddling with the card to remove some of the non-sense images to follow this guy further and perhaps get his good side once more.
As I stood there I heard the rustling in the leaves. I figured 'my guy' wasn't going to wait for me and was walking on. Not looking directly in front of me, but just over the brim of the camera while I was fiddling with it, I saw he was still standing there. He gave a teeth chatter and ran off with the speed of lightning (you could FEEL him leaving!). As I slowly turned my head up and sideways to see what had scared it I caught a glimpse of it in the distance. A HUGE black boar. Right in between the trees, staring at me. I took a couple of good steps back before getting my mind together and took a shot of it peering at me from between the trees. Knowing I meant him no harm, (seriously, what damage could I do to this Lord with a Canon camera?!) It walked off.
I felt humbled... touched.. shaken.. This beast was bigger than anything I've ever seen, and if trees could move, they'd be stepping aside for this animal!
It felt like time stood still for a while, and everything aside from me and that boar just fell away. One of the most stunning things I've seen so far. Looking back at this picture you can figure why male boars are called 'bears'.

We have about 10 acres of woods in our backyard, so we get a lot of deer around here...and even watching them in the woods or even coming onto our lawn to get where they need to go, or watch them eating the crab apples, it's just so cool I love living out in the country!
What a beautiful animal. I am sure the picture is hardly as great as actually being in the creatures presence, but wow it really is a nice shot.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
